Can you tell us about your background and what led you to apply for a position at 365 Mechanix?

Before I applied for the graduate role at 365 Mechanix, I had just finished my Bachelor of Commerce with Information Systems and Finance majors at the University of New South Wales. I was looking for a graduate position relevant to my studies and found 365 Mechanix. I applied because the position overlapped with both Consulting and Finance fields which I’m really passionate about and the company looked like a great fit.

What was the interview process like for your initial position as a graduate employee?

I received contact from the team a few days after the application closed and arranged an online interview. We had two sets of interviews, one with my now colleague Taylor and another with our Manager, Michael.

During the interviews I felt at ease and was able to showcase my skills and what I could bring to the company. Both interviews went great. The team were really easy to talk to and open about the opportunities available at 365 Mechanix.

How did the company support your professional development during your time as a graduate employee?

Coming to 365 Mechanix, I didn’t have much knowledge about the Microsoft Platform. I was given a complete breakdown and training during my induction and throughout my 3-month internship the business provided me with all the knowledge I needed to succeed. 365 Mechanix also provided me with access to multiple Microsoft courses and certifications to support my professional development.

Can you describe some of the projects you worked on as a graduate employee, and how they prepared you for your current role?

At the start of the internship, I spent a lot of time going through the basics of Power Platform and Dynamics 365. One of the best aspects of the learning process for me was working on a demo of the system that I needed to prepare for a client. It helped me go through almost all essential parts of Power Platform and allowed me to grow as a consultant.

How did you find the transition from graduate employee to full-time employee, both in terms of responsibilities and company culture?

I think the transition from graduate to employee was very smooth. I had already been working at the company for 3 months and was familiar with the culture and expectations of me becoming a full-time employee. That being said, I now have many more responsibilities and projects assigned to me after finishing the graduate program which keeps me busy.

What advice would you give to other graduates who are considering applying for a position at 365 Mechanix?

Don’t be afraid of not knowing how something works. Feel free to ask questions. Anyone at 365 Mechanix will be more than happy to help you.

Can you share any particularly memorable moments from your time as a graduate employee?

I would say one of the most memorable moments for me was a shout out that Bruce (CEO) gave me on our weekly company call for successfully creating a demo for a customer. It’s a great feeling knowing I did something well, especially when it was an early project of mine.

What excites you about the future of 365 Mechanix, and how do you see yourself contributing to the company’s growth and success moving forward?

365 Mechanix is growing at a very rapid pace. We are getting a lot of exposure and it’s exciting to see the company flourish. For me, the most important contribution is to make sure my clients are happy with the progress that we make. I will also be working on internal process improvements which will help 365 Mechanix in the future.
